Siri Svegler

Siri Svegler

Her voice: In one moment deeply melancholy and poetically fragile, in the next powerful and energetic, but always crystal clear. Her sound: A mixture of dreamy, folky, jazzy indie pop, full of soul, magic and a pinch of mystery, just like the singer herself.

This is Siri Svegler, the Swedish singer-songwriter whose first two albums "Silent Viewer" and "Lost & Found" received rave reviews and received international recognition and awards, including the VW Soundfoundation Award for best newcomer in pop, personally selected by legend SEAL, as well as the best album at the German Rock/Pop Awards (German Rock Pop Award).

Her songs have been used extensively in movies, commercials and on television, and Siri writes and collaborates with a variety of international artists and DJs, including Moonbootica, Johnwaynes, Lorenzo Al Dino and Shahrokh Dini and MasterCris, just to name a few. Remixes of her songs can be found on many compilation albums.

A new chapter has begun with their latest single, “No Need To Define,” and Siri sets the tone for what’s to come: their third album, “Awake,” scheduled for September 2019.

"Awake" contains thirteen of her own new, original songs, and it is her first album, not named after a song on the album, but rather a feeling and reflection on an ongoing spiritual and emotional journey - a journey of awakening that seeks to express itself through melodies, songs and words.

It means waking up and realizing that it is okay to embrace and love the shadow aspects of ourselves and others as much as the light. To wake up and understand that feelings can sometimes be unpleasant, painful or confusing and that that’s okay, and that we’re okay to feel them. To wake up and realize that we are all just human beings and that it is impossible to go through life without experiencing pain in any way, sometimes even causing it. We all make mistakes, hurt or get hurt, and in the end, as clichéd or banal as it may sound; love will save the day.

The key is acceptance, forgiving learning and letting go of things with love. This is sometimes easier said than done, and the learning process can be bumpy. But bumpy roads are also fine. And they also have a tendency to keep you awake somehow...
