About the concert

Just as it was a diary for many, it has always been the writing of their songs for 22-year-old Joey May. Since childhood, she has been packing emotions and experiences into her lyrics, first on the violin and now on guitar and piano. Last year she worked on her debut EP “Notes from my bedroom”, a collection of five personal songs about love, life and everything in between. At the same time she also found herself together with her band and went on a self-organized tour of Austria and Germany in the summer of 2022 after first concerts in Graz.

Always under the motto: “Why wait for the rockstar life, if you can live it!”, the guitar is packed over and over again in the past year, a flight to London booked and the British open mic scene explored. Musically, she finds herself somewhere between singer-songwriter and indie-folk-pop. Inspired by up-and-coming artists such as Lizzy McAlpine, Maisie Peters & Holly Humberstone, there is a constant balance between charmingly unfiltered texts and round phrasing.

She commented on this briefly with "The main thing is that it must feel warm!" Dreams of the future go towards the album and many other live performances near and far. “My songs are my world and it’s such an exciting world that I just want to share it with more people.”

Since Maia can remember, she sits at the piano and sings on stage. Maia Onda writes pop songs, accompanies herself with guitar and piano and produces songs completely on her own. Dreamy texted perspectives are carried by catchy melodies. Whether in full band or solo on the instrument, with her unique voice and fairy-like appearance, the attention of the room attracts magnetically.

As an exceptional talent, she has many opportunities – at 17 she signs her first record contract and her debut “Dead Plants” in 2021 immediately moves into the radio charts. In the meantime, Maia’s music is in rotation on all well-known radio stations in Austria, such as Hitradio ö3, Antenne Steiermark and Kärnten or Kronehit. Maia can also collect up to over 100,000 streams on the streaming market with her singles.

In September 2023 Maia’s first studio album “Mosaic” will be released, which depicts two intense years in her musical and personal development. Her musical mosaic is made up of 15 songs, which together form an image of versatility. Through her commitment, Maia has managed to work on her music in countless studios throughout Germany and Austria and to cooperate with producers such as Paul Falk, Julian Neumann and Patrick Freisinger.
