About the concert
CHOK is an acoustic trio in traditional cast - drums, double bass and piano. Oddly, minimalist compositions and fragments of the jazz canon underpin their shared language for an extremely improvisational, playful, moment-facing game.
Instead of museum revivals of the jazz past or supposedly contemporary modernizations, the collective balancing of polarities such as “archaic-modernist”, “musical-intellectual” and “virtuoso-naive” is the focus of her work.
- Malte Sieberns - piano
- Paul Brauner - bass
- Jan Roth - drums
