Yo Hes Quartett

The Yo Hes Quartet is a young international band that was founded in Berlin in 2023 and plays original music. The focus of the concert is on improvisation and the journey of music into wide textural spaces. Through the different cultures and influences of the band members, one can expect a rich variety of timbres, from dreamy ballads to raw, spontaneous energy in music.

Yo Hes’ compositions are influenced by the New York and Berlin modern jazz scene and explore the rhythmic world of odd meters.

Yo Hes (2001) studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, the Royal Conservatory in Brussels and the Conservatory in Paris. He won the soloist prize at the competition of the Dinant Jazz Festival 2018 (Belgium).
