Jomee

Jomee

Inspired by the Icelandic word for glamour (“ljomi”), Jomee is not only her alias, but also the motto that the singer and guitarist carries out with every fiber of her being.

Through her music, she enters into a lively dialogue with the audience. Her lyrics are about being honest with yourself, sharing the deepest inside with the outside and drawing strength from what unites us. Without glossing over, she sings of the longing for a world in which everyone has their place. From the desire to break out - and the courage to change.

Jomee’s musical interests have always been versatile. As a guitarist she led her way through a classical study of world music and finger style, while as a singer she was from the beginning in pop and jazz. She therefore finds inspiration for her songwriting both with artists such as Alin Coen, Alicia Keys and Jordan Rakei as well as with bands such as Snarky Puppy or the Punch Brothers.

She combines these influences into an unmistakable mixture of charming guitar sound, 80s synth pads, catchy bass lines and sometimes soft-poppy, sometimes funky-groovy drums.

Whether on stage or in the newly released live video for her song “Rising Up”: Jomee’s varied soul-pop has radiance – and it’s more than contagious.
