BROKOF

BROKOF is an alternative folk rock band from Berlin, Germany. The 4-piece ensemble released their debut album "Softly, Softly, Catchee Monkey" in 2010. The band’s second album, Side By Side (LP, 2012), opened up wider access to a wider audience and was critically acclaimed, promptly earning them the nickname “Spree-Beatles.” The German STERN wrote: "Put simply: In BROKOF one of the most interesting folk rock bands in Germany is waiting to be discovered."

With the EP "Eviction Notice" (2015), BROKOF gave a first insight into their third album "Cool Fame" (LP, 2016) and toured Europe with the EP as a gift for their fans. ROLLING STONE magazine compared Cool Fame to the works of CSNY and The Who, calling it “simple and beautiful.”

A year later, the band released the album "Brother Equal" (LP, 2017), a collaboration with American singer-songwriter Random Willson.

"Fore!" (LP, 2018) was "another fantastic release from BROKOF: this time the Berlin Quartet presents a more distorted and less romantic version of their folk rock, at the same time everything swings wonderfully without affecting the result; the small forms beat the grand gestures à la Jeff Tweedy". Once again, you hear how well BROKOF plays together, giving the arrangements room to breathe instead of forcing them down.

There's 'Cabin', a beautiful Wilco sigh, the biting noiser 'A Ride' or the John Lennon song 'Don't Give Up On Me Now', and 'The World At Her Feet' ventures far and wide and stumbles with synthesizers and psychedelic sounds. - ROLLING STONE

After two years of creative seclusion, BROKOF announced their return to the public with the single "Share" (2022), followed by "Not At All" (single, 2022). With "6842123" (Single, 2023) the band announced a new album for the fall of 2023 and released another single in April with the title "Only A Song".
