About the concert

Iakovos “Jako” Symeonidis (guitar, compositions)

  • Bernd Spaniard (organ)
  • George Potamianos (drums)
  • Thomas Hähnlein (tenor saxophone)

The Jako Organ Trio is the personal project of Berlin-based Greek guitarist Iakovos Symeonidis and recently released their debut album “Jako Organ Trio-Safe Place” (April 2022, QFTF).

The band plays original compositions by Symeonidis, songs from the jazz tradition and arrangements from Motown and Soul. This time the great tenor saxophonist Thomas Hähnlein joins the band with his unique sound and approach.

The aim of the band is to engage the audience in the best possible way through the combination of swing, afro and funk grooves. Finally, the band tries to attract a new audience to jazz music and share the enthusiasm for improvisation, spontaneity and freedom that jazz brings.
