Andrea Šulcová & Allison Wheeler

Andrea Šulcová (CZ) and Allison Wheeler (USA) form an enchanting duo born out of their mutual love for folk, bluegrass and Songwri9ng. After their successful debuts in 2022, Andrea with Opportuni9es (Animal Music) and Allison with Winterspring (Ubuntu Music), the duo found themselves in the spring of 2023 "just for fun" and for the joy of composing together. Although they are from opposite corners of the world, they are related souls who grew up with Joni Mitchell, Allison Krauss or Dixie Chicks, who have greatly influenced their sound.

Her collaboration also hints at her jazz education - Andrea studied jazz flute at the University of Art Graz (AT) and Allison Jazz singing at the University of Northern Colorado (USA). The songs remain true to the beauty of the simple and captivate the listeners with flowing harmonies and authentic stories. Their first EP, Life of a Song, was released in the fall of 2023, and the duo continues to bloom with new music as they embark on their summer tour.

Andrea Šulcová, living in Dresden, is a singer, songwriter and Flö9s9n from Náchod, Czech Republic. With her "extraordinary s9mm quality and her Songwri9ng talent" (Marek Reinoha, headliner), she was recently named by headliner magazine as one of the 50 most current Czech artists to listen to. For her debut album Opportuni9es she worked with producer Petr Ostrouchov (Animal Music) and some of the best musicians in the Czech Republic, which earned her much recognition and the following praise: "Not many Czech singers can play with American country, pop and jazz like this."

Honza Průša (Seznam Médium), "Your music can brighten your day, pull you out of your grief and give you courage" (Šárka Hellerová, headliner) or "Some songs bring back the spirit of work of Crosby, S9ll, Nash & Young" (Roman Jireš ČTK, Rock&Pop).

Allison Wheeler from Salinas, California, is a "composer of great sonic imagination" (Peter Quinn, Jazzwise UK) with a versatile S9mme and a penchant for krea9ve challenges. Their debut album Winterspring was released on the London label Ubuntu Music in 2022 and was hailed as "one of the strongest collections of songs of recent years" (Jan Hocek, JazzPort). She has been compared by Kri9kern to artists such as Becca Stevens (Jazz Times) and Gretchen Parlato (Jazzwise UK) – and yet she shamed a world all her own.

Their music seamlessly transcends the boundaries between genres and lets itself be influenced by their jazz roots and their talent in the visual arts to create a realm of fantasy driven by improvisa9on, nostalgia and a love of impressionism.
