About the concert
feat. Sea of Love alias Marie-Sophie Kanske
Sea of Love aka Marie-Sophie Kanske moves within its own era - a good deal outside of conventional (music) industrial mechanisms.
The music is reduced, but without being less elaborate or versatile. Rather transparent. And also a little radical. Sea of Love does not layer her voices in warm harmonies, but sets them against each other like shards of a broken mirror. The production of Christian Grochau also never lasts much longer in the plucked folk song than a few moments at the starting point of those songs. The songs are a landscape in which one can move, linger, while she sometimes shoots music and voices like arrows, sometimes like warm rays of sun from various ambushes at her listener.
Cursed, disturbing, tenderly surprised.
