About the concert
“Three and a Half” is not only the name, but also the concept of this formation, consisting of three (and a half) musicians from three (and a half) continents who have found themselves in Munich. The English-German saxophonist and bassist Edi May, the Colombian guitarist Óscar Mosquera and the American drummer Nathan Carruthers present their project, which was launched in Munich. The band not only comes from 3(.5) countries and plays three(and a half) instruments, but also uses more than three(...,) music genres.
Although jazz is their basis, their compositions and sound are influenced by hip hop, rock, drum and bass, techno and many other styles; not to mention the young jazz and pop scenes in Germany and in the musicians’ home countries. The debut album of “Three and a Half” was released in August 2023. (On Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal and all other streaming platforms.) Three and a Half are looking forward to continuing to bring their music to stages in Germany and the world.
