Luka Kastelic - blackwood.street Modern Jazz, Fusion, Hip Hop

blackwood.street is a project by clarinetist and composer Luka Kastelic based on his unique musical vision. The Berlin ensemble combines modern jazz with elements from Broken Beat, Hip-Hop and other beat-oriented styles.

The name reflects this vision: “Blackwood” stands for the dark, warm, organic sounds of instruments made of African grenadill wood. “Street” symbolizes a living space where ideas and styles meet and evolve.

Similar to streetwear, blackwood.street is about creating a mood, creating a unique atmosphere and expressing individuality through unexpected and creative combinations.

This also reflects the streets of Berlin – a melting pot in which various Influences meet, from chamber music to modern beat-oriented Styles, and thus create a dynamic and versatile soundscape.
