About the concert

Take Note – The Songwriter Sessions is a monthly concert series at the Blue Note Dresden and offers singer-songwriters a stage for their own songs, new ideas and intimate live moments. Between folk, indie, Americana and acoustic songwriting, evenings with changing artists, personal stories and a direct atmosphere are created.

The sessions are moderated by Marie-Sophie Kanske (Sea of Love) and are aimed at experienced musicians as well as new voices from the scene. Entrance is free, donations go entirely to the performing artists:innen.

Musicians: Women who want to perform themselves can contact Marie with a short biography, 1-2 photos and links to audio/video material.

Scott Hildebrand is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with roots in the Chicago Blues of his hometown. Its sound combines elements of indie folk, Americana and rock’n’roll. Characteristic is his earthy voice, accompanied by expressive guitar and harmonica playing.

Since 2014 he has been a full-time musician on his “Endless World Tour”. Stations of his musical journey included South Korea, the USA, Australia, India, Germany and Guatemala. He is associated with a special openness to his audience and a passion for cultural exchange.

Hildebrand released six digital singles and two EPs. He has already performed with acts such as Josh Thompson (Chicago), Tones and I (Australia) and John Craigie (Berlin) and has appeared at festivals such as the FRL Festival (Australia) and the Folklorum (Germany).

He gained international attention through his version of the anti-war classic “Eve of Destruction” in the Hollywood film The Trial of the Chicago 7 and the inclusion of his song “Ready to Fly” in an Instagram video by actor Chris Hemsworth, which was distributed worldwide via BBC, ABC and other media.

Scott Hildebrand currently lives in Berlin, where he is active both solo and in the duo “Scott & Lila”.
