Fred Hills Trio

Fred Hills Trio

The Fred Hills Trio combines contemporary jazz with elements of indie folk, progressive rock and electronic influences. The British drummer and composer Fred Hills, known for his releases on Ninja Tune, creates with his fellow musicians an atmospheric, groove-oriented sound that is characterized by dynamic arrangements and melodic depth.

With his debut EP Incerto, Hills proved his versatility as a musician and composer. The trio’s music ranges from filigree guitar sounds and cinematic string arrangements to complex rhythmic structures. Critics compare his style to artists such as Cinematic Orchestra, Jono McCleery and James Blake.

Composition:

• Fred Hills – Drums, Composition

• Andrew Stuart-Buttle – violin, guitar, electronics

• Alfie Weedon - double bass

The trio delights with intense live performances that combine both improvisational freedom and catchy melodies – an exciting mix for lovers of modern and cross-genre music.
