Philipp Hermann Quartett

Philipp Hermann combines neoclassical, jazz and ambient to create a musical narrative art that creates images in the minds of the listeners. His plays tell of encounters, places and moments that evoke memories and dreams. At the center is the piano, complemented by a diverse sound palette and the influences of artists such as Chilly Gonzales, Yann Tiersen, Hania Rani and Ólafur Arnalds. The trained jazz pianist also composes film music and was most recently awarded the “Best Original Score” by the Canadian Cinematography Awards.
His current single was created in collaboration with the Estonian duo Ruut – a rework of the title “Väljad Karja Käia”, which combines Estonian zithers and original vocals with undulating piano patterns and cinematic soundscapes.
