Three of Seven is an international jazz trio that brings together musicians from three continents: guitarist Libor Šmoldas from Europe (Czech Republic), bassist Sam Zerna from Australia and drummer Jesse Simpson from North America (USA). What unites her is her musical imprint on the New York jazz scene – the common home of her stylistic development.
The trio presents a versatile repertoire of jazz standards and original compositions, which is characterized by improvisational freedom, joy of playing and high instrumental mastery. The different cultural backgrounds of the three musicians merge into a multi-layered, yet harmonious sound image – combined by their shared love of jazz tradition and an open approach to contemporary expression.
