Guayoyo

Guayoyo is a young musician formation from Osnabrück. The six musicians combine traditional elements of jazz and pop with influences from their cultural backgrounds – including from Venezuela and Peru. This creates a multi-faceted sound that is permeated by Latin American colors and rhythms.

The sound of the band is shaped by the compositions and arrangements of guitarist Jonas Hoffmann de Ramos. His pieces combine modern harmonic structures with catchy, singable melodies and provide a framework for a lively interplay that combines improvisational freedom with danceable grooves.

The band was first founded under the direction of drummer Diego Piñera and has been playing together continuously ever since. The music of Guayoyo thrives on the joy of playing and stylistic openness. In her concerts, an atmospheric sound image is created that oscillates between intimate moments and sweeping rhythmic energy.
