About the concert

The Green Apple Sea – Following the release of their fourth album “Directions” in 2018, joint recordings and performances with Wayne Graham (EP “Less Than Familiar”, 2020) and a re-issue of their 2007 album “Forever Sounds Great”, The Green Apple Sea is entering the next round. The most recently released singles were heralds of the new, now fifth album “Dark Kid” by the Nuremberg indie folkers of The Green Apple Sea.

If you don’t know this band yet, you can be prepared for mountain-clear folkpop, in which the childhood memories of band boss Stefan Prange swim around like dark jellyfish. Lyrically, singer/songwriter Stefan Prange now deals with the rather dark sides of his biography. Already in the song "Dark Kid (Ep.1)" from the year 2020, which begins with the line "Satan is my father, that's how you called him when I was small", Prange speaks quite directly that his early years of life were not quite uncomplicated.

Dark Kid (Ep.2) conveyed the feeling of being a little overwhelmed by one’s own existence with lines like “I wasn’t afraid to die, I was just waiting to die”. So the upcoming album “Dark Kid” is laid out like the new season of a beloved TV series and divided into individual episodes. Whether all this has a happy ending, you will find out at the concert, but who has seen Prange live before, knows that he always sings such lines with a slightly crooked grin...

“That’s what Teenage Fanclub might sound like if they took “Deja Vu” from Crosby, Stills, Nash&Young, or Lou Barlow’s folk implosion on a sunny day.”

... captivatingly beautiful songs, heartfelt harmonies, crystal clear arrangements. How casually Stefan Prange & Co shake well-hanged earworms like “Doc Watson Dream” out of the sleeve, that’s just a small miracle.

“The state of affairs in the folk- and country-influenced indiepop of Germany” (INTRO)
