Finding Cleo

Cleo sets out to reinvent herself – and invites us all to join her on this exciting journey. The Hamburg singer, who once made a name for herself as a celebrated jazz vocalist, opens a new chapter with her band FiNDiNG CLEO and shows that courage for change can create great things.

Her roots in jazz have shaped Cleo: growing up in a musical home, polished on the stages of the jazz metropolis of New Orleans, and celebrated for years for her virtuoso voice, reminiscent of greats like Ella Fitzgerald. But during the pandemic came the turning point – and with it the desire to find the sound of her own voice. It was time to break away from conventions and write her own music, which she reflects as an artist and a person.

With FiNDiNG CLEO, a band formed that is as multifaceted as Cleo himself: Martín Zamorano (Keys), Lukas Staratzky (guitar), Tom Richter (bass) and Jonas Winkler (drums) bring together their versatile musical backgrounds and create an unmistakable mixture of indie pop and neo-soul. Together with Cleo, they create a stage that sparkles with energy, intimacy and honest emotions.

FiNDiNG CLEO sounds like an embrace for the soul: dynamic rhythms, multi-layered harmonies and texts that tell of love, self-doubt, crises, new beginnings and the search for one’s own place in the world. Fans of artists: women like Leif Vollebekk, The Japanese House or Emily King will feel at home here – because FiNDiNG CLEO creates music for compassion, resonance and breathing.

In May 2024, the first single “Alike” will be released, a moving song about the courage to remain true to oneself. It follows the anthem “Just Right”, which celebrates all those who choose their own route through life – even if it includes detours. In parallel, the band is working with London producer Chris Hyson (Credits: Jordan Rakei, Iwan Rheon, Alison Sudol) on an EP that will be released in 2025 with another six songs.

FiNDiNG CLEO invites you to a musical deep talk that is full of depth, warmth and passion. Those who are looking for touching sounds and honest music should not miss this band.
