About the concert
In the series “Thank You...”, some music students from the Dresden University of Music have teamed up to get to know some personalities of jazz history in depth and to bring their work to the audience in one evening. But not only the musical works but also the life thinking and acting should be illuminated on this evening. In the current issue, they have dealt with the saxophone icon Joe Henderson: We want the musical legacy of Joe Henderson – with a multifaceted program that includes both his own compositions and pieces in which he has participated as a sideman.
From classics such as "Inner Urge", "Recorda Me" and "Isotope" to legendary recordings alongside Horace Silver, Herbie Hancock, Kenny Dorham and much more - this concert promises a profound tribute to the extraordinary work of Henderson.
