Skyjack Marc Stucki (CH) – tenorsax Andreas Tschopp (CH) – trombone Kyle Shepherd (SA) – piano Shane Cooper (SA) – bass Jonno Sweetman (SA) – drums The award-winning jazz collective Skyjack, consisting of some of the most sought-after jazz musicians from South Africa and Switzerland, will be on the release tour of their fourth studio album in April 2026. Every musician celebrated by critics for himself, the sum of Skyjack is greater than its parts.

Shane Cooper (double bass) and Kyle Shepherd (piano) have each received the coveted Standard Bank Young Artist for Jazz Award in South Africa. The Swiss musicians Marc Stucki (saxophone) and Andreas Tschopp (trumpet) are two of Switzerland’s most sought-after brass players who have experienced a dizzying creative and professional flight over the years. Jonno Sweetman (drums) joined the band in 2022 and is one of South Africa’s most sought-after drummers.

The sound of Skyjack is an absolute powerhouse, with all members bringing in compositions written specifically for the group. From deep African groove to fierce jazz rhythms and beautiful soundscapes, it’s all part of Skyjack’s incredible journey. After their first meeting at the festivals Jazzwerkstatt Bern, Switzerland, and National Arts Festival Grahamstown, South Africa, in the 2012/13 season, Skyjack has been touring every year, either in Europe or South Africa or on both sides of the globe.

The band recorded their self-titled debut album in 2015, which was highly praised by critics. Her second album “The Hunter” was recorded at the beginning of 2018 in Maur, Switzerland and was released on the 19th. April 2019 on Enja/Yellowbird Records released. Skyjack have released their third studio album “Light Cycle” in early 2024 on as shams records as double vinyl! The fourth prank follows in April 2026 on Kujua Records.
