Tito Lopez Quartett

The focus of the Tito Lopez Quartet is hardbop – with all its sonic depth and rhythmic power. The quartet is led by Humberto “Tito” Lopez, a trombonist with a warm, strong tone, who feels at home audibly in the dynamic timbres of this style. What the quartet brings to the stage convinces through musical maturity: You immediately notice that musicians play here who know what they are doing without appearing stiff.

The classical line-up of trombone, piano, bass and drums creates a dense but open sound space in which improvisation has its place and every musician is heard. In terms of sound, the quartet is based on the vision of a Conrad Herwig, but brings its own, younger handwriting. In addition to his own compositions, the quartet also plays standards that he appropriates in his own way. The result: a concert that remains in the memory.
