Sinomtha Zake ft Salt, Pepper & the Peanuts

Singer Sinomtha Zake, who is from East London, South Africa, has grown up with the traditions of Xhosa culture, singing part of her surroundings and her everyday life.

These traditions have left a lasting mark on her unique and emotional voice. Through her many years of involvement in Stellenbosch University Choir and in her gospel group UnQulo, Sinomtha now combines a mixture of gospel, jazz, and pop in her singing.

In addition to her vocal activities, Sinomtha is also a classically trained instrumentalist who gives her a deep understanding of melody, harmony and composition. This foundation shapes her singing style and gives her performances a nuanced, expressive quality.
