Der Hirte Albert

Der Hirte Albert

The Shepherd Albert – an article, two names, a duo and a flawless statement. Otto Hirte (saxophone, clarinet) and Leon Albert (guitar, baritongitar, composition) got to know each other while working together in their quintet Sonore Wandbehangen and from the very beginning they attached great importance to a well-kept syntax: The album dedicated to those who do not like us has been available since January 2016 and was released by the Berlin label Contemplate.

Now the two go on tour with new, in-house duo compositions. Sometimes jazzig, sometimes in the direction of classical music, sometimes melancholy, sometimes experimental, but always in a chamber-musical form and of course also with a lot of improvisation, Hirteian sillynesses are created, which is hardly possible to describe with a few flawless statements. Listen for yourself!
