The Art of Duo

Esther Kaiser - vocals / Sounds Rüdiger Krause - Acoustic Guitar, E-Guitar, Loops plus Surprise Guest
The duo play is regarded as the nucleus of musical communication and improvisational interplay in jazz. The jazz singer Esther Kaiser, professor of jazz singing at the Musikhochschule Dresden and the guitarist Rüdiger Krause, companions of Manfred Krug, Günter Fischer and Barbara Thalheim celebrate this with great liveliness, freshness and virtuosity.
The focus of her musical consideration is not only on jazz compositions but also works by David Bowie, Tom Waits and the Beatles. To work out the special features of the compositions from the different musical worlds and at the same time to add a very own and personal touch is the goal of the two renowned jazz musicians, whose solo CDs have both been enthusiastically celebrated by the press in recent years.
"For me today already the best jazz vocal recording of the year" (for the current album “Songs of Courage” Jazzpodium, 10-18)
"Immaculate and exciting new-sounding interpretations of Brecht ("An den kleine Radioapparat") to John Farnham (...) Kaiser is a singer who can give each song an individual robe thanks to her calm but spectacularly shimmering voice..." (to the current album "Songs of Courage" FAZ, 08-18)
What is difficult sounds playfully easy for Esther Kaiser. This is her art. (Nuremberger Nachrichten) Hardly does she enter the stage does the sun rise.
The singer Esther Kaiser has this charisma, which can brighten up rainy days. (Hessische Niedersächsische Allgemeine Zeitung) ...Krause is a "voicing painter", creates ... dynamic intensity and colorful - also romantic - atmospheres. (Jazz Thing, review to ELECTRIC KRAUSE)
“With poignant empathy, (Rüdiger Krause) conjures up a mood power that is best seen live.” (Dresdner Neueste Nachrichten, review of Krause’s latest CD “A Guitar Named Carla”)
