to soma

The Hamburg trio “to soma” combines elements of jazz, soul, pop and electronic influences. Through their playful, avant-garde and flowing style, they taste their very own way of making music. By juxtaposing a 70s rhodes, jazzy melodies, cassette recorders and backings into a drumpad, synth bass and loops, retro and modern combine. Dark lyrics can be found in elegant melodies. Delicate and fragile, but also loud, full of anger, despair and strength.

The band released their first singles in the summer of 2018 with their song “Brooks of Pain” on The new version of Spotify’s “New Alternative” playlist.

In September 2019, to soma released their first EP “tame” with five songs on vinyl and online.
