BLUFF

BLUFF

BLUFF is the project of four young jazz musicians with Ankerplatz Hamburg. The quartet aligns its compass with the young New York scene and incorporates these inspirations into its own music. For example, role models such as Ambrose Akinmusire and Immanuel Wilkins are clearly reflected in BLUFF’s compositions. The four musicians understand each other blindly, so that the music is almost self-forming: starting from the melody, they break out into considerable dynamic arcs and yet always find their way back to the refined simplicity of their own musical style.

The band exudes a joy of playing on stage that jumps over to the audience. In less than three years as a permanent formation, BLUFF was already on tour nationwide and has performed at the Elbjazz and JazzBaltica Festival.

In addition, the band recorded their debut album in the renowned Bauer Studios last year, which they have as a CD in their luggage. ”The new album is full of surprises, with clever compositions and arrangements, great dynamism and above all, great interpretations of everyone.” The musicians present on this album a musical kaleidoscope, which you very often listen to. BLUFF is a part of our future, already now. - Nils Landgren
