The heart of Adam Sikora and Luis (Gigi) de Cicco beats for the traditional pre-war country blues. As Juke Joint Smokers, the two Berlin musicians bring their passion for the original to the stage. Polish harmonica player Adam Sikora studied the playing techniques of Sonny Terry, Johnny Woods or Billy Bizor at an early age. Despite all the modern ways of playing, he has adapted her game, developed it into his own songs and filled the original sound with his own soul. The result: Country Blues Harmonica like Terry, Woods and Bizor, but unique as Adam Sikora.
The Italian Luis (Gigi) de Cicco is a versatile multi-instrumentalist. With capodaster, acoustic guitar and finger picks, he has found his own blues groove. Together, Adam and Gigi play a rough and rusty hill country blues inspired by the streets of Berlin.
Adam Sikora is a harmonica player who completely by chance became obsessed with the harmonica styles of Sonny Terry, Johnny Woods and Billy Bizor. He is not only an outstanding harp player but he takes you back to the origins of country blues. His deep mastery of and passion for the harp and the music captivates his audience single handedly. Luis (Gigi) de Cicco is an eclectic multi-instrumentalist from Benevento, Italy, who, like Adam, found a home in the thriving Berlin arts scene.
Capo, acoustic guitar and fingerpicks in hand, Gigi has found his own blues groove by delving deep into the styles of Mississippi Fred McDowell, RL Burnside and other Hill Country masters. Together they play a raw and rusty hill-country blues which draws inspiration from the streets of Berlin.
