About the concert
The Simon Bremen Quartet plays its own pieces and arrangements. These reflect the search for the most diverse sources of inspiration and their deep exploration as well as the melodic and playful improvisations. So instead of claiming to be able to constantly open up new musical territory with an already infinite variety of existing, the four musicians move as a classical jazz line-up courageously in the vast space of the ever-expanding musical tradition. Lyrical melodies meet modern harmonics, driving grooves stand on equal terms alongside free play spaces.
The resulting tension fields make the four young musicians with their personal sonic manuscripts a lively, but at the same time always transparent band sound.
The quartet presents his debut album “Reflections On” recorded in Helsinki in February 2022 Predictability, expanded into a quintet by Finnish friend and vibraphonist Olli Virtanen.
