SUMMARY:Schemes Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Schemes is a Danish-Norwegian jazz quartet that consists of som
e of the most exciting new names of the Scandinavian jazz-scene. Their mus
ic is unconventional and full of contrasts\, where intricate compositions
are approached with freedom and openness. The quartet draws inspiration fr
om the jazz scenes of Berlin\, New York\, and Scandinavia. With intense in
terplay\, the music is presented through the musicians&#039\; desire to ch
allenge and complement each other. Schemes create an energy that captivate
s the listener from the very beginning. In the fall of 2026 they will rele
ase their second album as a group.\n\n&quot\;Full of energy melodies and a

SUMMARY:nähmaschinenQuartett
DESCRIPTION:With Times\, a new era in the already ten-year history of the q
uartet around guitarist Simon Harscheidt begins. The nähmaschinenQuartett
has now found its sound with its third studio album: the unmistakable due
t of saxophone and guitar\, carried by the playful groove of bass and drum
s\, became the trademark of the young Munich quartet.\n\n\n\nThe composer
’s overall goal has not changed since the beginning: the melodies of his
songs should be beautiful and catchy. Why shouldn’t contemporary instru
mental jazz also be able to produce earworms?\n\n\n\nPress reviews:\n\n\n\
n\n“Musically\, the four of them move between pop and classical\, betwee
n electric and acoustic music\, between melodically engaging compositions
and – what a delightful surprise – the blues. […] And the way they p
layed it – the ‘Nähmaschinen Blues’ – simply commands respect. By
the way: the band name alone is worthy of an award!”\n(Süddeutsche Zei
tung)\n\n\n\n\n“[…] By incorporating these influences into their own g
uiding principle of ‘catchy and sophisticated at the same time’\, howe

gant and fast-paced like the common tern\, sometimes slow and swirling lik
e the bacterial colony in a free bowl of nuts at the bar round the corner:
the compositions of the ‘Four For Free’ quartet bring these contrasts
together. One thing always remains the same: the music never stands still
\, but moves organically from one point to the next.\n\nThe arrangement is
different every evening and deliberately leaves room for the individual c
ontributions of the four musicians. Together\, they shape and mould their
pieces into a coherent musical whole – at times angular\, at times quiet
\, at times deliberately open to interpretation. The result is a form of m

SUMMARY:Līva
DESCRIPTION:One passion\, two instruments. Līva Strazdiņa—a true Berlin
er with Latvian roots—plays the trumpet and flugelhorn\, and also compos
es. Now it all comes together: she is releasing her debut album *Unspoken*
\, featuring many of her own compositions\, complemented by a cover of *Ho
nesty* (Billy Joel) and an arrangement of the popular Latvian folk song *P
ūt Vējiņi*.\n\nSome tracks are direct reflections on specific experienc
es\; for instance\, *Misfortune Happens Sometimes* was written following a
botched concert recording. Generally speaking\, Līva’s music tells of
experiences\, feelings\, encounters and everyday life. When she changed he
r trumpet embouchure\, the exercises required frequent breaks – she used
these to write ‘Concerted Breaks’. ‘Four Ants’ stems from a rehea
rsal situation. One might think it’s about ants\; and if you like\, the
piece sounds like a colony of ants marching cheerfully through the forest.
In fact\, however\, it is a play on words between ‘four ants’ and ‘
four and’\, a musical beat.\n\nThe trumpeter recorded her debut album wi
th musician friends who enriched the production with their personal style
and musical expertise: Max Hacker on tenor saxophone and alto flute\, Flor
ian Schultz on guitar\, Laurie Rich on piano\, Christian Cuevas-Müller on
double bass\, and Bastian Menz on drums.\n\nTo this day\, Līva continues
to draw inspiration and influence from Billy Joel\, Ella Fitzgerald\, Mil
es Davis\, Kendrick Lamar and others. On her debut album\, this is evident
in her cover of Joel’s *Honesty*\, a song that accompanied her througho
ut her youth and which she has now recorded as an instrumental piece. Owin
g to her family roots in Latvia\, Līva engages with Latvian pop and folk
music\, which she grew up with and which she encounters time and again in
her second home.\n\nLīva Strazdiņa (born 1997) studied with Sebastian St
udnitzky\, Malte Burba\, Simon Harrer and Till Brönner\, amongst others\,
at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden. She has been
playing the piano since childhood and the trumpet and flugelhorn since the
age of thirteen. In 2020\, she began working on her own compositions.\n\n
With *Unspoken*\, Līva aims to share impressions drawn from her innermost
experiences. The album invites listeners to recognise themselves in this
emotional depth and to reflect on their own emotional world – to get to
know Līva through her music and to discover themselves through Līva’s
music.\n\n“In its intensity\, a real discovery for me. Worthwhile. Go an
d see her!”— Till Brönner\n\nLive music at Blue Note Dresden. Doors:

SUMMARY:Heated Land
DESCRIPTION:Heated Land\n\n\nHeated Land combines chamber music indie folk
with Americana\, blues and a pleasantly brittle melancholy. The focus is o
n the Augsburg songwriter Andreas Mayrock\, whose deep voice and retracted
guitar playing characterise the sound of the seven-piece band\, which is
distributed across Germany.\n\n\nAcoustic guitars\, bone-dry drums and har
monica meet double bass\, harmonium\, slide guitar and finely inserted str
ings. The arrangements usually remain slim and unobtrusive\, but can alway
s open up to more intense\, almost epic moments. Musically\, this is remin
iscent of the darker sides of Americana and Alternative Country – somewh
ere between Townes Van Zandt\, Bill Callahan\, 16 Horsepower and Talk Talk
.\n\n\nHeated Land tell their songs with peace and space: melancholy\, som

SUMMARY:wenet – organ electric jazz trio
DESCRIPTION:Great masters such as Wes Montgomery\, John Abercrombie and Joh
n McLaughlin loved their organ trios and set the standard for this line-up
.The band led by Leipzig-based guitarist Werner Neumann combines this trad
ition with contemporary jazz-rock\, R&amp\;B and soul. With Steffen Greisi
ger on the organ and Tom Friedrich on drums\, two magnificent musicians ha
ve come together for this project. wenet celebrates the fusion of jazz\, r
ock\, soul\, blues and gospel. It pays homage\, as it were\, to the songs
and celebrates that sacred moment in jazz: improvisation\, ensemble playin
g\, and the communication between the musicians and between the band and t
he audience.\n\n\n\nThe debut CD Neue Heimat was released in October 2020
by Lakeland\nRecords.\n\n\n\n\n&quot\;... the guitarist Werner Neumann has
now established himself as one of the most accomplished virtuosos on the
European music scene. It is precisely Neumann’s stylistic versatility th
at is so astonishing. Rejecting any form of purism\, he is equally at home
in jazz\, fusion and rock – including its harder-edged varieties ... It
is particularly on stage that Werner Neumann’s hidden musical roots com
e to the fore\, for example when he sweeps through the restrained jazz lan
dscape with the overdriven sonic storms of a Jimi Hendrix. Such surprising
leaps and contrasts in his stylistic approach – which\, however\, never
seem out of place but\, on the contrary\, come across as extremely refres
hing – are an integral part of the guitarist’s individual style\, whic
h has taken shape over the years through a skilful and successful interwea
ving of his rock and jazz influences.&quot\;\n(Harald Rehmann on Deutschla

SUMMARY:Irma Neumüller &#038\; Seth Sjöström
DESCRIPTION:Irma Neumüller &amp\; Seth Sjöström are two Swedish musician
s and composers who met through their shared passion for jazz and improvis

scape: their own compositions stand alongside newly interpreted jazz stand
ards as well as selected Swedish folk and pop songs. This creates an intim
ate\, yet multifaceted atmosphere in which subtle nuances and spontaneous
musical dialogues characterize the character.\n\n\nHer music combines elem
ents from the traditional jazz language with influences from the contempor
ary Nordic jazz scene and the sonic colours of Swedish folk music. This mi
x creates an open\, lyrical expression that leaves room for improvisation
while being deeply rooted in cultural roots.\n\n\nIn recent years\, Irma a

SUMMARY:Vincent Meissner Trio
DESCRIPTION:With Assembled Instincts\, the Vincent Meissner Trio presents a
new programme and an exciting side of their musical work\, which has deve
loped in particular through the intensive interaction in the trio. At the
centre are pieces and miniatures that have been created from free improvis
ation. Over the years\, the ensemble has developed a common musical langua
ge\, shaped by instincts\, trust and an exceptionally intuitive way of int
eracting. Raw\, immediate and supported by a growing collective intuition\
, the concert on 29.12.2026 at the Blue Note Dresden captures this special
moment in a unique way.\n\n“A new hope for German jazz\,” declared MD
R Kultur\, while Deutschlandfunk went further: “a band that will take of
f like a rocket.” The American magazine DownBeat heard “excitement and
enthusiasm” in Vincent Meissner’s 2021 debut album “Bewegtes Feld
”\, produced by his mentor Michael Wollny. It all began in 2017\, when H
enri (born 2002) and Vincent (born 2000) met at music school in Dresden to
jam and make music together. Two years later\, in 2019\, Josef (born 1998
) joined the band. Henri and Vincent currently live and work in Leipzig\,
Josef in Paris. Their music seeks to convey impressions of the present bey
ond words and evoke emotional experiences that transcend the tangible mome
nt—in a completely natural way. Alongside numerous awards\, including th
e “Förderpreis der Deutschen Jazzunion” (2019)\, the “Mitteldeutsch
er Deutscher Jazzpreis” (2020)\, first prize at the “Junger Münchner
Jazzpreis” (2021) and first prize at the “Internationaler Biberacher J
azzpreis” (2022)\, the band released their highly acclaimed second album
“Wille” on the renowned ACT label. In recent years\, the Vincent Meis
sner Trio has also played at major clubs\, events and festivals across Eur
ope\, including Angrajazz in the Azores (2021)\, Jazzopen Stuttgart (2022)
\, Getxo Jazzfest (2023) and Off-Beat Basel (2024). The American magazine
Something Else! writes about “Wille”: “Following in the footsteps of
the Esbjörn Svensson Trio and The Bad Plus\, the Vincent Meissner Trio b
rings a youthful freshness to the established piano trio format. Clearly\,
this is an ensemble also in tune with more recent currents in contemporar
y music\, such as Louis Cole. And the interplay between the three is remar
 kable.” As a logical continuation\, their third album\, “Eigengrau”\
, was released in July 2025\, also on ACT.\n\n“The more you discover\, t
he more you find yourself returning to the beginning\,” says pianist Vin
cent Meissner. The music on his third album\, “Eigengrau”\, is charact
erised by a deeply introspective outlook. And by deeply personal experienc
es and encounters. Together with his regular trio – bassist Josef Zeimet
z and drummer Henri Reichmann – Vincent Meissner has developed his own m
usical language\, inspired by artists such as The Bad Plus\, Esbjörn Sven
sson\, Vijay Iyer and his mentor Michael Wollny.“Eigengrau describes the
moment of darkness behind closed eyes\,” explains Meissner. “But when
you rub your eyes\, you suddenly see patterns. Everyone sees something di
fferent – structures\, objects\, or perhaps nothing at all. It’s simil
ar with our music – it conjures up its own images for everyone.” On st
age\, the trio is constantly on the move\, often bursting with sheer energ
 y. In the studio\, Vincent Meissner\, together with his fellow musicians a
nd producer Andreas Brandis\, seeks reduction and concentration – of mel
odies\, textures and moods. For the album\, the three zoom in closer\; eve
ry note is an exploration\, every track an interplay – finely honed and
profound. For all its depth and complexity\, “Eigengrau” is an album of
songs. Each of the nine tightly focused pieces opens up an emotional spac
e—often in pastel colours\, full of subtle shades and hypnotic allure.\n

SUMMARY:VST 3.3
DESCRIPTION:VST 3.3 is the trio led by drummer Valentin Steinle. The band
’s name plays on the abbreviation VST\, which refers to the programming
interface for plug-ins in digital music production\, whilst also serving a
s a personal signature. The music also navigates a similar tension: betwee
n organically evolving passages and precisely structured\, almost mechanic
al patterns.\n\nThe trio tells stories at the points where different world
s meet. Their music is one in which something grows\, breaks apart\, branc
hes out and comes back together again in the very next moment. This interp
lay gives rise to a distinctive blend of power\, individuality and opennes
s.\n\nVST 3.3 uses compositions as starting points\, not as limitations. E
