Stephen Simmons / Eric Fritsch

Stephen Simmons / Eric Fritsch
Stephen Simmons is a singer-songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee. Since his debut Last Call (2004), he has regularly released albums between Americana, Folk, Country and Blues, toured internationally and has earned a reputation as a sensitive storyteller over two decades.
Simmons’ songs are characterized by poetic lyrics, a warm, striking voice and a wide stylistic range – sometimes reduced and introspective, sometimes rough and guitar-driven. In terms of content, they revolve around origin, relationships, loss, search and the fleeting feeling of home. It is always about what is true and tangible.
Simmons presents himself live solo or with a changing backing band – usually with long-time musical companions from the American American and country scene. He played with musicians who were also on stage for John Prine, Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams or Calexico.
Simmons is a regular guest in Europe – especially in Germany, where his albums appear on Blue Rose Records and he has built up a loyal audience over the years.
Eric Fritsch will be there as guitarist and mandolinist.
