KAMA Kollektiv

KAMA Kollektiv

KAMA Collective, an idiosyncratic quartet based in Amsterdam, tells stories about love, transformation, small everyday pleasures and the mystique of nature.

In a theatrical and fascinating style, her music draws influences from Nordic jazz & folk, indie pop, film music and electronic and improvised music. The charismatic bandleader and frontwoman Kirsi-Marja "Kiki" Harju enchants the audience with her eccentric singing and her lyrical trumpet playing. Together with bassist Jonathan she composes the music for the band.

The group’s third album, which will be released in May 2024, takes us into an imaginary world where plastic trees create hideouts for dragons, dreams evolve adventurously and constantly, and it feels like living a different life. Most importantly, however, the search makes us wonder what is really essential, and how to be yourself unapologetically.

The band has already released two studio albums, "KOTI" (Kirsi-Marja Harju/Eclipse Music, 2019) and "TOIVO" (BERTHOLD Records, 2021). Since 2019, KAMA collective has been touring intensively in the Netherlands, Germany and Finland, receiving positive feedback. In 2021, they presented themselves at the digital edition of Europe’s largest jazz conference, jazzahead! in Bremen, Germany.
