Aufmesser, Aichinger and Skorupa go in search of a multi-faceted trio sound, zapping through jazz history without being arbitrary; celebrate the joy of play and freedom in artistic expression.
It connects them with a collective search for modern and unmistakable soundscapes, where improvisational moments and energetic interactions of the individual ensemble members are in the foreground. It is particularly important for the trio to develop an independent compositional and interpretive approach, which on the one hand allows a lot of space for soloist experiments, on the other hand also develops playfulness and radically explores all stylistic and sonic possibilities of this line-up.
Although the three heads of the ensemble see the pluralistic field of "modern jazz" as the basis of their work, it is a great concern to them to create a refreshing and stylistically unrestricted band sound, which the three musicians already have on the international stage (among others). Alterna Club, Brno were able to present successfully.
Leohard Skorupa: Schilf
Lukas Aichinger: drums
Gregor Aufmesser: Kontrabass
