irio-eides

irio-eides

When travelling by plane, you have to leave heavy luggage behind.

It is then necessary to sort out what is useful or valuable and what is bulky or obstructive.

Once you have arrived, you have the opportunity to learn to get along with a few, special things. Or you accept the new unfamiliar to fill the wardrobe, the room or the mind.

This is exactly what Iris Eckert experienced during her 6-month stay in Riga. She has, as Aldous Huxley said, put herself in a vacuum where her mind could freely and playfully create something new with old knowledge, new impressions and time.

The result is her new quintet with contemporary compositions, in which she develops a new language in harmony with the trumpet, as well as songs with song character, free improvisations and moments to be thoughtless.

Iris Eckert - singing
Samuel Restle - Trumpet
Peter-Philipp Röhm – Piano
Mario Angelov – Bass
Lucas Klein - drums
