Sean Haefeli is an Indianapolis-born, Berlin-based jazz poet, singer, MC and pianist. He released his first album in 2002. Since then, he has earned a reputation as an accomplished copywriter, highly qualified pianist and versatile singer. His music, unmistakably contemporary, bridges the gap between classical and modern.
Author Kalamu ya Salaam describes him as “a cross between Ezra Pound in the metro and an alternate spoken word down in the Green Mill in Chicago ... he takes unexpected turns, sets texts that one must at least hear ... to decipher the discussed depths.” Sometimes it swings, sometimes it grooves, but there is always something emotional going on.
Haefeli “speaks his own language, from beautiful, soulful songwriting...to instrumental jam—all recorded in a trio...and with a pervasive live character.” Above that hovers Haefeli's great voice in all her facets. - Michael Rütten, Jazz Thing
