TORPH

TORPH

TORPH – as complex as the name seems, so simple is the vision behind this project. Five young musicians with different influences and inspirations see them not as an obstacle, but as an opportunity and enrichment. Thus, the repertoire consisting mainly of own compositions represents a melting pot of various varieties of jazz, rock, funk and fusion.

The music of the band combines down-to-earthness with filigree details, elaborated with open, playful passages, floating sound structures with earthy grooves and plays with the paradox of simplicity and complexity.

Meet in Saarbrücken, the band members now live all over Germany and either study at renowned music academies or are already working as freelance musicians.

Lorenz Hirsch | Saxophon
Philipp Herget | Gitarre
Jonas Schmitt | Keyboards
Tobias Fritzen | Bass
Max Hofmann | Drums
