Charles Vader

The Dresdner band Charles Vader presents their new album "01099", named after the postcode range of their hometown Dresden Neustadt.

The album features ten timeless tracks recorded at Castle Studio Röhrsdorf in January 2020 before the pandemic began.

The songs on "01099" tell stories about love, dusty streets and cheap drinks, in German and also in English. The Neustadt District of Dresden has shaped the music of the band and many of the stories could have happened just as well. The music and lyrics are by Mirko Glaser, accompanied by Tim Cross on bass, Andreas Henschel on drums, Andreas Krug on keyboards and Simon Jonas on guitar.

Charles Vader, also known as the singer of the Lazy Boys, as an observer of life writes songs shaped by his experiences and impressions. The band takes quieter paths, which rely on a classic setup with guitar, bass, drums and piano or organ.

Although the album is only now being released due to the pandemic, the songs are timeless and tell of universal themes that appeal to everyone. The Dresdner band Charles Vader proves with "01099" once again their sense for catchy melodies and unforgettable lyrics.
