JAMES SUNBURST & LARS VOGES
The fact that full-time and full-blood musicians experience a lot and have a lot to tell is no secret. It is therefore not surprising that both singers and instrumentalists James Sunburst and Lars Voges do not lack material to make their songs exciting, fun and entertaining. In her varied program, Lars presents his German-language songs, while James sings in his English mother tongue. Musically, it is the long-time guitarist of the baseballs (Lars Voges) and the double bass player of the Rockhouse Brothers (James Sunburst, aka Little Brother Jamie) virtually in the cradle to put the range of blues, chanson, rock’n’roll and singer/songwriter in a contemporary dress.
Lars Voges moved from Kiel to Berlin early in his music career and has willingly exchanged the fresh sea air for the wicked and smoky atmosphere of the Berlin live music scene. His songs, written in German, tell of late nights and dubious acquaintances, without ever forgetting the sea, and the promises of freedom hidden in them.
James Sunburst, born in America and raised in England, is used to a life traveling. For decades as a musician “On The Road”, his interest is mainly the people he meets and the many friendships he maintains. As a special challenge of our time, the passionate wave rider and free spirit feels the challenge of consciously developing and maturing without losing the joy of life and individuality.
