8 Octopi

8 Octopi

The focus of the band 8 Octopi is the singer Isabelle Ritter, whose voice oscillates between naivety and wickedness and lends a unique touch to the music of the quartet. The 13 songs were written by flutist Ben Zahler and offer a varied palette that sounds humorous like the opener "Eight Octopi" and melancholy like the thoughtful "Excuses".

The band deliberately consists of pianist Iannis Obiols and bassist Ilya Alabuzhev, without a drummer. This gives the band a chamber music sound that fits perfectly with the musical vision of Zahler. Still, 8 Octopi manage to sound groovy, especially when they sing "Icompetence". The relaxed sound is full of pretty details and invites you to enjoy.

8 Octopi is a quartet that delights the audience with its unique style and versatile songs. The combination of Isabelle Ritter’s striking voice and Ben Zahler’s compositional skills creates a fascinating soundscape that both stimulates reflection and invites you to tap along.

Immerse yourself in the world of 8 Octopi and be enchanted by her chamber music sound and multifaceted compositions. The band proves that music without drummers can not only be possible, but also exciting. Look forward to a musical experience that impresses with its dazzling touch and loving details.
