‘Outstanding’ BBC Radio 6 Music

‘A very promising future’ Guitarist Magazine

Kev Minney is a Northampton, UK-born and raised singer-songwriter with a unique voice and virtuosic guitar skills. His songs come straight from the heart and create emotions that give us stories of tenderness, perseverance, hope and authenticity. He is not an artist who follows trends, but has taken his own artistic path.

Before he began singing, Kev struggled with a heavy stutter, a challenge he gradually overcame by summoning the courage to take to the stage and perform hundreds of times. He emphasizes this story in his moving single "It Doesn't Bother Me".

Kev’s music brings with it the originality of a worker boy, but also the sensitivity of an artist. Throughout the album, you can feel his drive and passion, stemming from a lifelong overcoming of the limits of his background. He is heavily influenced by songwriters such as Neil Young, Nick Drake and Jackson C Frank, as well as contemporary artists such as Radiohead and Nick Cave.

Since his beginnings in 2015, when he recorded his first EP with Kenny Siegal in New York (Beirut, Langehorn Slim), Kev has produced two more albums with ten tracks each: "Stories of the Sky", which was released in 2017, and "Modern Stories", which was produced in Brighton in 2020 under the direction of the Mercury Award-nominated Jag Jago.
