Take Note – Songwriter Sessions hosted by Marie Kanske / Scott & Lila

Take Note – Songwriter Sessions hosted by Marie Kanske

Take Note – The Songwriter Sessions is a monthly concert series at the Blue Note Dresden and offers singer-songwriters a stage for their own songs, new ideas and intimate live moments. Between folk, indie, Americana and acoustic songwriting, evenings with changing artists, personal stories and a direct atmosphere are created.

The sessions are moderated by Marie-Sophie Kanske (Sea of Love) and are aimed at experienced musicians as well as new voices from the scene. Entrance is free, donations go entirely to the performing artists:innen.

Musicians: Women who want to perform themselves can contact Marie with a short biography, 1-2 photos and links to audio/video material.

Scott & Lila

SCOTT & LILA (Scott Hildebrand and Lila Despoix) form an acoustic duo from Chicago/Paris and are based in Berlin. They met in 2019 when Lila spontaneously joined Scott while he was playing music on the streets of Berlin.

Together they present their own songs with harmonic singing, accompanied by guitar and ukulele. Her music gives her listeners a warm feeling, combining indie folk, blues and jazz in a modern and refreshing way.

In 2019, they started their tour through Europe and Asia. When the pandemic began in 2020, SCOTT & LILA were on tour in Sri Lanka. There they spent almost a year, living in a small village in the jungle and collecting material for an album. They made four music videos that have since been released. During their stay in Sri Lanka, two of their videos went viral and they received a request to participate in a tourism video for Sri Lanka.

In 2021 they performed live on the German radio station "RBB Fritz Radio". Recently, they celebrated success on TikTok with several viral videos of their spontaneous street performances.

In 2022 and 2023 they toured Europe, the USA and South Korea. They performed at the EU4YA Festival in Berlin, played at several festivals in the Czech Republic, Germany and Italy, and headlined at the Acorn Theater in Michigan, USA. They also gave ten shows throughout South Korea and opened for artists such as John Craigie, Barenger and The Hoosiers in Berlin. Their first full album will be released in spring 2024.
