Iga Osowska und Mara Jessen
Iga Osowska Quartett – Polish Jazz poetry
The Chosen Lubeck and singer Iga Osowska (*1991) studied at the Musikhochschule Lübeck from 2011 to 2017 and received a popular singing education, in which she was able to gain numerous stage, studio and concert experiences of various styles. During this time she found her special love for jazz, which she then joined Prof. Hamburg University of Music and Theatre from 2017 to 2021. Ken Norris studied. In 2023, Iga Osowska became the first female to win the prestigious Lübeck Jazz Prize. With a mixture of traditional jazz standards with scat singing, as well as more modern jazz, she is regularly heard at concerts in northern Germany. A special feature within this are the Polish-language pieces of her program Polish Jazz poetry, with which the singer returns to her Polish roots and wants to promote a cultural exchange between the two neighboring countries.
Her current album Kosmopolitika is intended to reflect this cultural and musical diversity. With elements of jazz and pop, Iga Osowska combines her own compositions and arrangements with her band in a varied program with different cultural and musical influences.
