Monsieur Pompadour
Monsieur Pompadour
Jazz Manouche
In the summer of 2014, the French Bohèmien Monsieur Pompadour moved to Berlin. Among the illustrious circle of his rushing festivals were a singing Belgian, a Hungarian violinist, an extremely silent bassist and a noble guitar virtuoso. They founded a band and since then have impressed with a very special mixture of cheerful swing, ambitious wildness and a pinch of melancholy. Chansons and songs about life and love, sung and interpreted in the style of their idols Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. For the debut, Monsieur Pompadour gave them the honor of his fine-sounding name and then disappeared as a blind passenger on a luxury steamer.
Line-up :
Ernesto - singing, guitar
Ferenc Hegedütok violin, singing saw
Florian of Frieling - guitar, mandolin, banjo, singing
Antti Virtaranta - double bass, singing
As of 10. Band anniversary shows you Monsieur Pompadour the old gold and new ideas, small vanities and great moments of heart in the form of a brand new record: “Moustaches”
"a gorgeous summer record" "deep love for Sinti-Swing, a thrilling desire for life"
und auch viel Humor klingen aus jeder Note…“ MDR Kultur zum Album „En Route“
Monsieur Pompadour has music in his luggage that can do almost anything. Sometimes the spectators sit back, sometimes the feet and soul want to dance. And the next piece, the guests listen to the story to the melody...The Berlin musicians create something familiar and something completely new with their music. You have the audience’s cheers.
