Etienne Wittich Trio

Etienne Wittich Trio
„IT DON’T MEAN A THING IF IT AIN’T GOT THAT SWING!“ – Das ist die Philosophie der drei up-and-coming Musiker, die sich in Berlin am renommierten Jazz Institut kennengelernt haben. Sie spielen ein Mix aus Eigenkompositionen und greifen auf ihr reiches Repertoire an Jazz Standards und Kompositionen des Great American Songbooks zurück.
The guitarist Etienne Wittich from Regensburg, where he won the Regensburg Music Award in 2018, has been living in Berlin since 2020 and is studying at the renowned Jazz Institute Berlin. There he is part of various formations. Among his teachers are John Scofield, Paulo Morello, Helmut Nieberle, Howard Alden, Kalle Kalima and Phil Donkin.
Thiago Duarte is a bassist from the south of Brazil. There he is active in the local scene and has played with names such as João Donato, Egberto Gismonti, João Bosco, Airto Moreira and Flora Purim. With the latter, he has participated as e- and double-bassist on the most recent albums, including "If You Will" by Flora Purim, which was nominated for the Grammy 2022 in the category Best Latin Jazz Album.
Finn Seemann is a drummer who grew up in Berlin. Since 2021 he has been studying at the Jazz Institute Berlin with Heinrich Köbberling and has been working in various formations of the young Berlin jazz scene ever since. As a composer, he always tries to approach various forms of music and has already written for larger ensembles, including big band but also chamber compositions such as string quartet. Since 2022 he has been leading his own quintet.
