Jakob Wundrack & Band

Jakob Wundrack & Band

Singer and songwriter Jakob Wundrack from Berlin has recorded his debut album “With Me in Here” single-handedly during the Corona restrictions in 2020. Originally planned as a band production, Wundrack did not want to wait any longer in view of the uncertain situation and primarily relied on his own talents. These are unusually comprehensive. At a young age he learned classical piano and sang in the Dresden Cross Choir, then guitar and bass and jazz came along. In addition, as a trained sound master, he mastered all the finesses of studio technology.

The versatile talent and pragmatic flexibility may at first glance be typical for Wundrack’s generation. It seems rather atypical that the musician, born in August 1997, has created a complete album. With overarching dramaturgy and tasteful to concise pop songs, which sometimes sound atmospherically profound, sometimes relaxed or sweeping funky. Clever arrangement details bring variety, acoustic instruments as well as variable electric guitars and wound racks sovereign, warmly timbrated voice provide liveliness.

The album titled “With Me in Here” was released in March 2022 on the Berlin label “Traumton Records” and was received extremely positively by the critics. Wundrack has since performed with his four-piece band and reinterpreted the songs in a refreshing way, with his musicians, Aaron Seitz on piano and keyboard, Patrick Orlich on bass and Philip Francisco on drums each incorporating their personal touch of jazz, soul and hip hop.
