Take Note – Songwriter Sessions hosted by Marie Kanske

feat. Sea of Love alias Marie-Sophie Kanske

Sea of Love alias Marie-Sophie Kanske bewegt sich innerhalb einer eigenen Zeitrechnung – ein gutes Stück außerhalb herkömmlicher (musik-)industrieller Mechanismen.

The music is reduced, but without being less elaborate or versatile. Rather transparent. And also a little radical. Sea of Love does not layer her voices in warm harmonies, but sets them against each other like shards of a broken mirror. The production of Christian Grochau also never lasts much longer in the plucked folk song than a few moments at the starting point of those songs. The songs are a landscape in which one can move, linger, while she sometimes shoots music and voices like arrows, sometimes like warm rays of sun from various ambushes at her listener. Cursed, disturbing, tenderly surprised.

Take Note – Songwriter Sessions hosted by Marie Kanske

Take Note – The Songwriter Sessions is a monthly concert series at the Blue Note Dresden and offers singer-songwriters a stage for their own songs, new ideas and intimate live moments. Between folk, indie, Americana and acoustic songwriting, evenings with changing artists, personal stories and a direct atmosphere are created.

The sessions are moderated by Marie-Sophie Kanske (Sea of Love) and are aimed at experienced musicians as well as new voices from the scene. Entrance is free, donations go entirely to the performing artists:innen.

Musicians: Women who want to perform themselves can contact Marie with a short biography, 1-2 photos and links to audio/video material.
