Julia Perminova Trio

Julia Perminova Trio

The Julia Perminova Trio brings together Russian jazz pianist Julia Perminova, Dresdner bassist Josef Zeimetz and Portuguese drummer Luis Possolo. Together they create a unique sound that combines European influences with jazz traditions.

Their new album Freedom, recorded in 2022 at Bauer Studios in Ludwigsburg, is a musical diary that captures Perminova’s deep thoughts and emotions about the importance of freedom in life. Each piece tells its own story – from the vastness of the ocean in “Sea Lullaby” to the inner strength in “Lost and Confident” she experienced during the pandemic. The title track "Freedom" and other compositions reflect her personal engagement with freedom and the challenges of life.
