The Rick Hollander Quartet

The Rick Hollander Quartet
After her Japanese tour in 2023, "The RHQ" can be experienced again in Europe. The band combines traditional and modern influences in their program and interprets melodies from different cultures in a varied art. A concert that is especially interesting for jazz lovers.
Herwig Gradischnig, tenor saxophonist and frontman of the group, impresses with his profound style and deep familiarity with the jazz tradition. Born in 1968 in Bruck an der Mur and living today in Vienna, he also teaches at the private university JAM Music Lab.
Guitarist Paul Brändle complements the band with his sense of harmony and melody. His calm, thoughtful playing style gives the music a special color.
Bass player Giampaolo Laurentaci from Lecce in Italy forms the rhythmic backbone of the band. With a financed training at the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen and the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona, he brings a deep understanding of the jazz tradition.
Rick Hollander, bandleader and drummer, complements the sound of the band with his versatile playing style. Whether on the drums or on the steel drum, his playing gives the music a clear structure and dynamics.
