BOUCAN

BOUCAN

Probably the most exciting act that France’s alternative music scene has to offer right now. The duo consisting of Brunoï Zarn (vocals, banjo, cigar-box guitar, theremin, canister) and Mathias Imbert (double bass, vocals, drums), are simply unique. At Boucan, surrealist lyrics, shamanic chants and electrifying stages grow energy together into an almost alien performance. A musical film Noir that magically combines Captain Beefheart, Serge Gainsbourg and 16 Horsepower (or some Noir Desir?) into an enchanting, disturbing, highly flammable mix. Not surprising the producer John Parish (among others). PJ Harvey, Eels, Giant Sand noticed her and produced her debut album “Déborder”. Boucan concerts are barely top-notch, genre-boosting expeditions that have everything to offer from goosebump moments to danceable beats. Quite simply great!
