In Residence – Summer at the Blue Note

With IN RESIDENCE we invite young musicians to guest for several days in the Blue Note. In the evening they play concerts on our stage, during the day they explore Dresden and collect new impressions.

Bands from different regions with different musical approaches can be experienced. We are looking forward to a versatile and inspiring concert summer.

Art Lewis Jubilee is composed of three musicians from diverse backgrounds with a common desire to share the joy of the old jazz. In a humorous and joyful journey, they explore the pre-bebop jazz repertoire, which has its roots in Southern blues, mechanical piano music and marching bands.

They seek to place this repertoire in a contemporary context, where tradition is both honored and explored, and where the music can still be danced to.
