Bad Temper Joe
When it comes to blues in German countries, Bad Temper Joe leads no way around. The grumpy blues bard from the East Westphalian province has developed into an absolute exception in the blues scene in recent years. This is not only evidenced by the large number of albums with both rough and haunting songs that BTJ has presented in the meantime. This is also evidenced by the win of the German Blues Challenge as well as the nominations for various Blues Awards and the prize of German record critics. With devotion to the old bluesers from the Mississippi Delta, Bad Temper Joe brings the often-dead blues to the 21st with ease. Century – with everything that distinguishes blues at the highest level: excellent songwriting, a strong sense of tradition, engaging performance. BTJ is also making waves internationally. In 2020, he was the only European act to assert himself in the final of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA. The British Blues Matters Magazine concludes: “It’s hard to believe that the sounds of the Mississippi Delta have relocated to Germany, but they have.”
